Altercare of Nobles Pond in Jackson Township Expands Rehabilitation Center
Due to the increasing demands for short and long term rehabilitation services, Altercare of Nobles Pond now offers the latest rehabilitation equipment and technology in a large new rehabilitation center. This addition has more than doubled Altercare of Nobles Pond's capacity to provide physical, occupational and speech therapy.In the past decade, the focus of rehabilitation has moved from hospitals to post-acute care facilities like Altercare of Nobles Pond. Rehabilitation for results is the focus of Nobles Pond, and the facility's large rehabilitation center and experienced therapists help people achieve their highest levels of independence and improved quality of life. Rehabilitation achievements are shown in Outcome Reports that track "before and after" progress. This goal-oriented approach can be seen in the short length of short-term rehabilitation stays at the facility, ranging from two weeks to 40 days before people return home.
The expanded rehabilitation center was designed to accommodate the most advanced rehab equipment, including a car transfer simulator for occupational therapy, a Wii system and putting green for physical therapy, and VitalStim therapy, an electronic stimulation treatment for swallowing disorders caused by stroke, injury, or neurological diseases. Pressure mapping, a computerized method of monitoring areas of pressure to prevent pressure ulcers, is a unique new treatment available in the new center. Orthopedic rehabilitation is a specialty of Nobles Pond, serving the needs of people in their 50's as they recover from knee or hip surgery. Nobles Pond also provides a holistic pain management program that focuses on patient comfort.
Altercare of Nobles Pond is a winner of the national American Health Care Association Quality award which recognizes the application of continuous quality improvement principles, and has been recognized by parent company Altercare of Ohio with the Five Star award for quality and excellence.
