"The Company has established a Corporate Compliance Program as a system to assure contracts, business relationships and activities are in compliance with the law. The Company can meet this commitment only through the efforts of our highly skilled caregivers and dedicated support staff of all companies. It is you who must earn the trust and respect of others by continuing to conduct your daily affairs with honesty, integrity, and in compliance with the letter and the spirit of all applicable laws. The Company is dedicated to maintaining a working environment that promotes these ideals."
Each of us need to approach this Organization with deeply held views of what we find worthwhile — Values. We need not only to express those values but we need to convert them to values of action. Here are a few that need to be most important to you:
Achievement, Affection, Competence, Creativity, Cooperation, Decisiveness, Collaboration, Ethical Practice, Helping Others, Honesty, Harmony, Loyalty, Leadership, Challenge, Stability, Involvement, Motivation, Quality, Respect, Integrity, Meaningful Work
The Company is committed to operating its business in an honest, ethical, and legal manner. The Company also endeavors to be a good corporate citizen and to act ethically in its dealings with vendors, referral sources, competitors, and others. To formalize its commitment to compliance, the Company has adopted a Compliance Program, assigned a Compliance Officer to oversee the program, and formed a Compliance Committee to assist in evaluating compliance issues.
We expect all employees to contribute to this culture of compliance by recognizing and doing "the right thing." Continuous education of the Compliance Program will be provided throughout your employment.
As part of its compliance program, the Company has adopted the following Code of Conduct for its organization, employees, agents, and contractors:
We will not lie, cheat, steal, harm others, or tolerate those who do.
We believe that if employees abide by the following general principles, they will be able to meet our standards for compliance:
Follow Our Policies. The Company is required to abide by a large number of laws and regulations because of the nature of the services that we provide. The Company can face serious consequences for failure to abide by the law. Therefore, the Company expects that all policies will be followed.
Do the Right Thing. While the right thing is not always the easy thing, you most likely know what it is without having to be told. The Company expects that its employees will work hard and diligently on behalf of The Company and perform to the best of their abilities. The Company also expects its employees to be honest, trustworthy, and respectful.
Follow the Golden Rule. Treat others as you would want them to treat you. Treat others with respect and dignity. Never harm another person, or allow them to be harmed while they are in your care.
Employees are expected to act as a "neighborhood watch" for the Compliance Program. Therefore, if you observe any conduct that you suspect may be a violation of the Code of Conduct, you are required to report that conduct to your immediate supervisor or use any of the available communication methods listed here:
Employees are protected in filing a report or concern by the Non-Retaliation Policy.
