New Immersive Virtual Rehabilitation Program Now Available at Altercare of Mentor Center
Altercare of Mentor Center now offers an innovative therapeutic solution for neuromotor rehabilitation of patients with sensorimotor deficits involving the upper and lower limbs, whether caused by brain injury, such as stroke, or by chronic and progressive neurological disorders, such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis.
The new BTS Nirvana Enhanced Virtual Reality interactive system provides a complete sensory immersion in a virtual setting, without requiring invasive devices that may limit or modify interaction.
The Nirvana system projects visual scenarios onto vertical or horizontal surfaces so that the patient can interact with the "virtual environment" in the most natural way through movements into the projection plane. The system's playful and target-oriented motivational approach, combined with stimulating sensory feedback, make it an effective therapeutic tool.
